Weeks of 6/21 and 6/28
Good Health!!
We have approached warm and beautiful days now. It is good weather for walking outside, running if you dare and even swimming as a form of exercise. Whatever your approach to exercise is, I encourage you to be disciplined and workout a least 5 times a week.
What about nutrition? Well, I have learned that everyone’s taste buds are different. For example, no one can ever make me eat a piece of watermelon so I’ll reach for other healthy foods that I love. There are no set rules to follow in order to shed a few pounds, however; I will give you a few tips so that you can manage to lose a few pounds on your own the healthy and easy way. Here’s what I’m doing, want to join me?
- My tip on bread: never have more than 2 slices a day. If you have toast for breakfast, the sandwich is not a choice. If you can do without the bread for a day or two, more power to you!!! I recommend 15 grain Pepperidge Farm bread.
- How much water should I have a day? If you weight 120 lbs. divide that number by 2 and you get 60 which is the amount of ounces of water you should drink a day.
- Have all the veggies you want a day and enjoy fresh fruit. Berries are a great choice.
- Allow yourself to have a healthy snack in between meals.
- Eat very slowly and chew your food thoroughly. Remember, digestion begins in the mouth.
- Dessert anyone? Well, not every time after a meal. However, allowing yourself to a small oatmeal cookie or a piece of dark chocolate will sustain your desire for something sweet.
If you feel that the above tips are too simple for you but you are still trying to shed some weight, give them a try. Yes, they are simple, therefore; anyone can follow them. You’ll see amazing results just by making these small changes in your eating habits.
